Preparing to install the bearing

Before installation work, unpack the bearing. If the bearing is to be lubricated with grease, the anti-rust coating on it does not need to be removed. If it is to be lubricated with oil, the anti-rust coating on the bearing needs to be removed with benzene or kerosene. .

For bearings with adapters, to check their radial clearance before installation work, it is necessary to place it on a flat table and install a thickness gauge between the uppermost roller and the outer ring raceway surface to measure the clearance .

It is important to note that do not force the gauge or turn the bearing, otherwise, the resulting gap measurement will be greater than the actual gap.

1. Housing installation with ball head set screws

As a type of bearing housing, the bearing housing with set screws is relatively simple to install. It is only necessary to install the bearing housing unit with set screws on the shaft, and then evenly tighten the two set screws.

2. Housing installation with eccentric locking ring

Unlike the housing system with ball head set screw, in the housing system with eccentric locking ring, the shaft and inner ring are fixed together by tightening the eccentric locking ring in the direction of rotation of the shaft, this fixing method is very strong, The inner ring is rarely deformed, however, this system is not recommended for applications where the direction of rotation is sometimes reversed.

3. Housing mounting of the adapter sleeve

With a housing-mounted unit using an adapter sleeve, the fit between the shaft and the inner ring will not loosen even when subjected to shock or vibration loads, and straight shafts can be used under any operating conditions unless there is a large axial load.
